If you are a domestic landlord you must test your renting property every 5 years of change of occupancy this will be a legal requirement for you to do this your insurance will be invalid if you do not have an updated test done.

Buying or selling properties some surveyors will request you have a test done I would allows recommend having one done for piece of mind this also depends if your mortgage lender requires a test to be done before releasing money.
